We decided that one of the things we wanted to do while we were back in Albuquerque was to shop for a truck. Our experience with the Amazon package contaminating everything made it more obvious that a truck could be a really great option. We also wanted to get a truck because we can get a topper and sleep in the back of the truck. The sad part for this Toyota snob, is that Tundras do not come with a long enough truck bed for what we need. Wesley is a Ford guy so we stopped at the Ford dealership next. Amazingly the third truck we looked at was exactly what we were looking for: extended cab F150, rubber floors, vinyl seats, gas engine, and a 8 foot truck bed. We have this truck to trial until Thursday so now we just need to get camping gear tomorrow and get back out on the road on Monday. We were contemplating going south to get into some warmer temperatures, but we also have a couple more areas up near Santa Fe and Taos that we’d like to check out. We’re in this debating place right now of which one to check out this coming week knowing we won’t have our topper for another 7-9 weeks. If we’re going to go north, I think we need to do that very soon. Tomorrow we’ll head to the good ole Walmart and restock on camping gear and bedding.
