We stayed at the Drury Inn for 3 nights and decided our time there needed to be over and headed back to FL. We stayed a night in a hotel we’ve stayed at a few times before and then headed back to where we were before leaving FL. It feels really good here now that it’s nice sunny FL days. They were sold out for tomorrow already when I booked rooms so we’ll go back to where we stayed Tuesday night tomorrow night and then come back. The really good news is that we went back to a hotel we thought was maybe not good enough anymore and it was surrounded by bad air, but in good air. That’s really good because that was an area we’d like to explore more.
We went back out to Ichetucknee and hiked. We were talking to Tracy on the phone and Wesley started pointing at the ground. My worst fear is that I’m going to step on a snake so I start dancing around in circles. Wesley thought my behavior was really weird and had no idea the panic he created until after I got off the phone. It was a turtle who I’m sure was more terrified than me! Lucky for it I didn’t step on it.
Here’s some other pictures from Itchetucknee:
A quick update on the NM fires: the fire near Simcha is 90% contained and is half it’s starting size. The Three Rivers fire hasn’t been updated today, but it’s hitting a burn scar from the 2012 fire so that’s slowed it down. Last posted was holding steady at 12,000 acres, which beats doubling the day before! My fellow moldie friend in AZ has one near her too. Fire season in the SW is going to be rough this summer with severe drought and an early start! Rainy season is approaching us in FL so I’m not sure what the next location will be. You can pray God directs our paths. I’d like to explore the Appalachians. Wesley is starting to look for freelance IT jobs. You can pray for God’s provision in that way too. I’m not sure what to do for me. I’ve tossed around the idea of a mobile practice. I caught up with a doc from FL today and her recommendation was to license while FL doesn’t have their horrible state board, but to be sure we’ll do well enough here during rainy season by staying for at least part of rainy season (June-Nov).
Thinking of both of you! Thanks so much for these updates! I may not respond a lot, but know we think of you often! Sending our love!
Thanks Carma! I’m trying to be better about posting after being so lax about it the past few weeks
