We got all the mishaps from the farm sitting incidents taken care of: Chester, Savy, and the house all smell fine now. The rugs I think will even be salvageable. Lana takes the rugs to the car wash on occasion anyways so that’s her plan for them and then bringing them back inside. Snowy, the kitten, found the vent his size into the crawl space so the little stinker was inside the basement the whole time he was missing. I was highly suspect that that’s where he was, but I thought the basement was locked. Thankfully it wasn’t and Wesley fetched him from the basement the next morning when the kittens were meowing to each other through the basement door. We found the chicken I thought I stole from the neighbors and put her back out of the coop. Diana found her the next day and put her back in. ??♀️ At that point I claimed no responsibility for stealing the chicken. It turns out she was one of Justin’s chickens so it was all good. We decided we’d rather be in the house alone, but are so very thankful for the lessons learned in the Airbnb. Here’s some what we learned: people can work in bad locations and not destroy us when they come home, storms will make all bad objects in a home worse, we can tolerate a decent amount of indoor mold as long as the location is good, chairs sat in routinely by someone that works in a bad location without a change clothes makes for a pretty brutal chair on a storm day, & you can likely get away with finding good enough used things.
I found a rental in an acreage neighborhood about 10 min from the Airbnb. We moved in Monday. Wesley got a desk and chair for his office. He’s happy with his setup. We got our bed platform today so we’ll get our bed setup soon and get off the air mattress. We have an acre of land and can get chickens. I’m super excited! I can see a horse out the window right now, which is fun.
The pregnancy is continuing to go well. I’ve been doing lots of cleaning and shopping since we moved in. I’m having a lazy day today so you’re getting an update instead of me cleaning. I started seeing the chiropractor yesterday and it’s been really good for me.
Fellow moldies, when you heal enough to transition back into traditional housing, steam washers are rockstars. They can’t fix bad window coverings that come in the house, but they can keep clothes and bedding clear. Justin and Lana have a steam washer (actually the same one I had in Williamsburg at the office) so we were able to test a steam washer/dryer set before buying. Many moldies seem to do pretty well with the steam washers too. When we were at the Airbnb, the other room was occupied by 4 ladies that harvest marijuana fields. Their clothes felt bad (and smelled terrible), but that never effected our clothes or bedding (badness or smell) despite squeezing a load in between theirs in the night.
Wonderful news!! Praise the Lord! Continuing to pray for you guys!
Love this update! So happy to see you in your own place! And you can have chickens too, I’m so jealous!! May the Lord continue to bless you!
Congrats on your own place! Very exciting!
It is good to know with things going well with both of you. Grandpa.
