I’m writing this as we sit in our plane in Cedar Rapids waiting for our flight to depart. We’ll arrive in Denver tonight for our 19 hour layover where we have a day to spend with Wesley’s aunt and uncle. We’ll finish our flight to Albuquerque tomorrow night and begin our mold avoidance journey.
New Mexico has a mandatory 14 day quarantine unless you have a negative COVID test so we stopped at the CR Test Iowa location to get tested on our way out. I’m thankful getting a test in Iowa is easy these days when you’re assymptomatic. The test was just as miserable as the first one, but I must say Frank has some finesse in this horrible procedure so if you need one done, he’s a pretty good option at the CR location. We did learn that if your sinuses are inflamed, which poor Wesley’s were, the test is more painful and horrible. The poor guy endured it, but I think he’s like I was after the first one where if wearing a mask can prevent that test, we’re all in!
We have been on a proverbial dead sprint getting things finished up for a Tuesday departure. People ask if I’m excited. Uh… all I can think of is what’s not done and what direction I need to go next. Oh to be able to know it’s mostly finished and sit to write an update is a gift! There are things the attorney is finishing up with selling the business, my mom is finishing up some banking, and my mother in law is going to finish up selling the rest of our stuff. Carma came to help all morning and after she and Audrey finish cleaning the apartment, we’re done with our personal things.
I got to say goodbye to some of my favorite people last night on my last trip to Williamsburg. That was such a blessing! I’m really going to miss everyone. Hopefully some of you will come camp with us at some point. Being we’re the crazies starting this journey in fall, we might be through intensification, where we become more sensitive to everything as we detox, so people can come visit in spring/summer. We’ll hold onto that hope loosely though bc we won’t know until we get there.
We’re getting back off the plane now. At least they found the mechanical error before take off. Hopefully we’ll be on our way before too long. This day has become the classic hurry up and wait. Ha! If this is the worst that happens today, we’ll be great. I got all my errands done earlier, but gave Mary a bag of things that I forgot my wallet in. We did manage to connect with her in route to drop off the vehicle we’ve been borrowing the past week and a half so we didn’t even get behind schedule enough to miss our COVID tests. God has been providential and awesome directing our steps today so we have to trust this new hiccup in the journey is part of his provision. It kind of sounds like we might get a free hotel room out this. We’re waiting in line to find out. The cool part is we can hop on zoom to meet with our community Group tonight bc we’re not on the flight. Bonus! We just talked with the guy with United and we’ll get a free hotel and meals tonight/tomorrow morning.
Come and camp with you? oooo I can’t wait!
