The second attempt to fly from Cedar Rapids to Denver was successful. The team at United has been pretty awesome. We got a free hotel room, shuttle, and food. You’d think DIA wouldn’t be so bad, but oh my the mold!! The B concourses didn’t seem too bad, but after taking the train to the A concourse and getting out, the mold was horrendous. Stachybotrys looks like dirt smears and those the ceiling tiles had lots of blacks smeared all over them. My legs and joints were in pretty terrible pain by the time we left the airport and brain function spiraled down pretty bad. Thankfully we both felt better after a shower and got a good night’s sleep.
Today was a productive and restful day. We walked to Village Inn this morning for breakfast and then we walked around the area where the hotel was a little bit too. Our mentor says that MT, the main outdoor toxin we need to learn to I didn’t avoid, is really high in Denver, so that might explain some of the issues that we were having. My feet and ankles are pretty crippled up and my heart aches. The room we’re staying in seemed pretty great until we brought our stuff in. I wish we hadn’t brought all this technology with us now. Sigh… It might need to be shipped back to Iowa. My MacBook seemed OK until I got the charger out. That seems horrible to me.
This afternoon Wesley was able to get our blog subscription set up so that you sign up to get notifications when we post a new blog post. If you’re interested in doing that, you’ll see the place to do it on the right. He also got our new emails setup. I spent quite a bit of the afternoon working on getting a list of names and addresses together to send out the letter to my patients letting them know how to obtain the records and referrals to the doctors taking over care for my patients.
The flight to Albuquerque was completely uncomplicated and easy. It was nice after last nights four hour delay. Our COVID-19 test results came in during our flight and are negative! No 14 day quarantine required!
Good luck on your adventure!
