I still think our hotel last night was in good air and the room felt good, but when I laid down on the bed, I stopped feeling good. That’s frustrating, but such is life. There was no hot tub so we spent about an hour in the pool. This morning we both woke up pretty wrecked so we ate some food, showered and headed out. We drove south first and then north. Whew, part of that drive was brutal. Wesley was really struggling with navigating, looking up hotels he saw on the way, and calling to clarify there’s a hot tub/pool that’s open. Ultimately, we decided to head towards Wichita Falls. We stopped a little ways south of OKC and switched drivers.
I started doing research on hotels so we decided to stop a few places on the way to Wichita Falls. The one town that felt all good was too small to have hotels, but the next town had a hotel we thought would work. We started there and looked at a few rooms at one of the two hotels and neither of the first two worked so we decided to drive to the next town to look at another hotel while we waited for more rooms to get cleaned. Most of the hotels in the next town weren’t in good air, and Wesley and I disagreed on the air of the one we went to check, but after decontaminating, we agreed the prior hotel lobby felt allot better.
We grabbed some Wendy’s and headed back to find a room in the last hotel. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to find a good enough room, but the same company owned the two hotels next door to each other so I felt better going to the other hotel. I need to feel OK doing that EVERY TIME to win in finding a good room. I was worried that we’d replay our experience in Weatherford where my face was numb and Wesley felt amazing until morning when Wesley crashed the next day, but decided this would be a good experiment to find out if Wesley is one of those people who get euphoric feeling in MT. We found a good room, went to the car wash, cleaned the truck exterior, went back to the hotel, detailed the truck interior, and headed to the hot tub/pool for 2 hours. We feel good and really appreciate some of the AMAZING hotel staff we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Speaking of which, I should write some reviews.
I’m really glad the Lord helped me process my disappointment about the situation with our mentor yesterday. I had complete freedom about that issue last night. Today he messaged me to let us know that he didn’t think his service was going to be a good match for us. So the good news is he blessed us with a really solid foundation and in light of our mistakes from earlier this week, we have a better trajectory to move forward on.
