Sorry for the long break since our last update. I managed to drop my phone just right in the hot tub, and it was less than impressed. I’m in the midst of finishing this claim, but have the new phone. We had an appt to get our FL driver’s license and truck registration tomorrow, but I’m short a few things so we had to cancel that.
The coolest part of the past week was meeting Buddy. There’s an organization some people doing mold avoidance pair with because of financial constraints called WWOOF. This allows people to travel cheaper. Buddy is a pastor who uses his farm to raise organic veggies to sell to the local food bank and the WWOOFers help with the farm production work and the food bank.
He partners with WWOOF to bring in people of diverse backgrounds and point them to Christ. His vision of discipleship is amazing. We went to the farm on Sunday afternoon last week and yesterday together, and I escaped storm crud Tuesday there alone. Most of the WWOOFers left the farm at some point in the past week. We hope to head out to the farm to live at some point, but we have more healing to do first and want to continue to go out there to be sure the air is good enough before committing.
They got new chicks last Monday so now they have chicks, laying hens, and 3 rabbits. They garden in raised beds and are going to start implementing their permaculture design and putting up more green houses over the gardens next. We are super excited to be part of this ministry so you can pray God makes His will known regarding it. It would give us training in how to start a similar outreach ministry and knowledge on how to do gardening in FL soil instead of trying to figure it all out on our own.
Wesley has officially started his business and is staying super busy. The computer he ended up getting out of the two he ordered has worked great. He got hired by an MSP to do an email migration and the guy had another project not moving on schedule so he put Wesley in charge of it too. Through that contract, he has a connection to learn anything he wants in IT, which will only make him more valuable. God has blessed us abundantly. I’m pondering switching careers to therapy or life coaching so I can be more mobile. There are such strict boundaries in therapy that I think I’d rather do life coaching. I just need to figure out how to start doing that so you can pray for wisdom for me in that. I reached out to a local biblical counselor as well as a friend from Grace, and need to follow up on those calls now that I have a working phone. Last week was stormy so I didn’t accomplish much other than getting FL ins for the truck and working on getting health ins, getting our truck registered in FL, and domicile stuff moving.
I am SO excited for you guys!!! The farm ministry sounds wonderful!!! Continuing to pray for you both and look forward to hearing more about your call to FL!
Love hearing about your adventures. Sounds amazing. So many exciting things on the horizon for both of you!
